W = wife, A = our baby boy, a.k.a. Mister Finn
My wife and I are Mommy and Mama (respectively) to A., born in February 2008, in an emergency C-Section that saved his life and mine. I was only 6 months pregnant when I developed a rare, life-threatening pregnancy condition (called HELLP Syndrome by the Obstetricians and Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy by the liver specialists) that required his delivery at 27.5 weeks gestation. Now that A. and I are both healthy, I feel like I’m finally catching my breath. We went to the end of the world and came back with a baby. And now I find myself a mother.
Glad to find your link through my analytics tools. Welcome to the world, glad to see that A seems to be doing well, and please let us know (as veterans in this business) if we can help support you in any way, shape, or form.
Also, heads up about our preemie blog moms site (see the side bar on our blog): it’s a great group, very varied, some quite left, others quite right, of center, but mostly respectful folks (and our fearless moderators keep it that way). We’ve had zero.zero problems being same sex moms co-raising Hallie as members of this group, and the support a lot of moms and dads and caregivers offer is PHENOMENAL.
Meanwhile, we look forward to learning more about A and your story…
Abby
Glad to find your site through the link request. Please feel free to link. A is such a cutie!
Hi, you are MORE than welcome to link to me!! Thanks for the lovely comments!!
I just wanted to say I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your blog today. Your son sounds so very wonderful … and since I have a preemie, too, around the same gestation yet a full year younger, I am learning what to expect from your little guy. Thank you! He sounds precious … and I adore that love of books!
